For my daughter’s fifteenth birthday, we needed a unique dessert. Like a good desi mom, I found something that would work on a weeknight evening and still be special. My find was this Parsee custard, whose name translates as “wedding custard” since it is served at weddings or engagements. “Lagan” means joining or coming together. Parsee cuisine brings together an interesting confluence of culinary influences as is seen in the use of nutmeg, cardamom, and vanilla in this dessert.
