If I had to make a guess, I think this would very likely top the charts in the list of most popular desserts to serve at home in France, though it would be fighting mousse au chocolat and oeufs à la neige to claim the title. Silky smooth and very, very sweet, for many a crème caramel has got all the elements of a perfect dessert.
