  • About

This is a great favorite in Indiana farm country, where house-wives stake their reputations on a great sugar cream pie, frequently serving it as the conclusion to their traditional hearty Sunday dinner.

This custard is made without eggs; it’s sweet, firm and tasty. It’s based on an old recipe from Mary Durbin, who with her husband, Don, ran the Durbin Hotel in Rushville, Indiana, where Wendell Willkie set up his campaign headquarters.
