If sweet potato pie is good, and pecan pie is good, the reasoning goes, how much better to put the two together? In this recipe from Ginger Walsh, a Nashville food stylist and an excellent baker, the brown sugar bubbles up with the butter and pecans to form a caramelized glaze.

  1. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface into a large circle about inch thick. Fit it, without stretching, into a buttered 9-inch pie pan. Trim off the excess dough, leaving a
