The Armenian community has been part of the Palestinian cultural mosaic for centuries. Their strength derives from their staunch spirit and their sustained pride in their language, religion and culture, symbolised by the dignified and impregnable permanence of the Armenian Quarter in the old city of Jerusalem. Although Armenian restaurants sprinkle the Jerusalem scene with exoticism, it is in the home that the elusiveness of this all-too-often reticent group is overcome.
