One summer morning in France, I decided to make something delicious for breakfast. So I combined ripe strawberries and lavender from the garden with fresh croissants from the village baker. The result tastes wonderful.
Heat the croissants in a low oven or under the grill. Meanwhile, melt the butter in a wide, shallow pan and add the strawberries. Cook, stirring, over high heat until they give up their juice. Stir in the honey and cook, stirring, for 3-4 minutes until the juice has thickened into a syrup. Add the lavender flowers or leaves and remove from the heat.
