Frozen banana pieces, which you prepare ahead, make a delicious basis for smoothies, being both creamy and thick. I particularly like adding some white almond butter for richness, along with any other fruit that I fancy: strawberries, raspberries and blueberries are all delicious.
Simply put the frozen banana pieces into a blender, along with the almond butter and berries, and process, adding a little water or juice as necessary to achieve your preferred thickness. Mix in maple syrup, to taste, and serve immediately.
