- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cardamom pods
Method
- Heat the oil in a heavy-based saucepan over low heat. Add the onion and cardamom pods and fry until the onion is soft and starting to brown.
- Add the garlic to the saucepan, cook for 1 minute then add the tomatoes and cook until the paste is thick.
- Add the cinnamon, garam masala, chilli powder and sugar to the pan and cook for 1 minute. S
