Couscous and packets of instant couscous both require steaming for the grains to swell and become light. This is the traditional way to prepare it and gives the best results. The microwave method below will give a similar result — couscous with light, fluffy grains. For quicker preparation, simply follow the directions on the packet, or as directed in the recipe.
