  • 1.25 kg (2 lb 12 oz) cooking apples, peeled, cored and sliced

Method

  1. Put the sliced apples in a large saucepan with the sugar, lemon zest, cinnamon stick and butter. Cook over low heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are tender and the mixture is thick.
  2. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F/Gas 6)
