Sausages and beans are the basis for many casseroles that can provide a hearty but inexpensive meal for a crowd. You can experiment with different kinds of sausage (linguica, chorizo—or any good garlic sausage) and beans.
Have all ingredients soaked, cooked, chopped, and so on, as directed above.
