Utziger Hasselnuss Leckerli

This traditional recipe also came to me from Thea Cvijanovich, a native of Berne. I met Thea when I was teaching in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where she lives and does catering. The ingredients for these seem similar to those of the Berner Hasselnuss Staengeli (Swiss Hazelnut Bars from Berne), but the texture and flavor are entirely different.
