The eccentric title of this recipe is taken verbatim from A New System of Domestic Cookery by Maria Eliza Rundell, published in New York in 1817. The book was a gift from two dear friends from Southfield, Michigan, Shirley Nachman and Ann Malzberg, and of course the rec
