Ingredients

  • 1 lb. bulk pork sausage
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 medium green pepper, chopped
  • 1 (1 lb. 4 oz.) can tomatoes
  • ½ c. water or tomato juice
  • 2 c. uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tblsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp. chili powder
  • 2 c. dairy sour cream

Method

  • Brown sausage in heavy skillet, breaking meat apart with a fork. Pour fat off as it collects (important) .
  • Stir in remaining ingredients, except sour cream.
  • Bring to boil; cover pan. Simmer, stirring often to prevent sticking. Cook until macaroni is tender, 20 to 25 minutes.
  • Blend in sour cream; reheat just to boiling.
