Fish cooks in oven without attention. Good with French fries


  • 1 (1 lb.) pkg. frozen filets (cod, ocean perch, halibut or flounder)
  • 2 tblsp. fine cracker crumbs
  • 1 c. canned tomatoes
  • 2 tblsp. chopped onion
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. black pepper
  • 1 tblsp. butter or regular margarine
  • ¼ c. shredded Cheddar cheese


  • Thaw filets as directed on package.
  • Grease 1-qt. shallow baking dish. Sprinkle with cracker crumbs. Lay filets on crumbs.
  • Combine tomatoes, onion, salt and pepper; pour over filets. Dot with butter and cheese. Bake in moderate oven (350°) 35 minutes, until fish flakes when pierced with fork.
