Perfect Sunday supper main dish


  • c. coarse cracker crumbs
  • 1 pt. oysters, drained
  • ¼ c. oyster liquor
  • ¾ c. light cream
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • tsp. pepper
  • c. butter or regular margarine


  • Arrange ⅓ of the crumbs in well-buttered, shallow 1-qt. baking dish. Cover with half the oysters; repeat layer of crumbs and remaining oysters.
  • Blend liquids and seasonings; pour over oysters. Cover with remaining crumbs and dot with butter.
  • Bake in moderate oven (350°) about 45 minutes.
