Ingredients

  • ¼ c. butter
  • ½ c. dark corn syrup
  • 2 tblsp. water
  • ¼ c. brown sugar, firmly packed
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 6 medium sweet potatoes, cooked and peeled

Method

  • Melt butter. Stir in corn syrup, water, brown sugar and salt.
  • Cut potatoes in halves lengthwise. Dip in corn syrup mixture, coating all sides. Place in 13 X 9 X 2″ pan. Pour remaining syrup over top.
  • Bake in slow oven (325°) until tender and glazed, about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Baste occasionally.
