Ingredients

  • 4 c. mashed cooked turnips
  • 2 c. soft bread crumbs
  • ½ c. melted butter
  • 2 tblsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. pepper
  • 4 eggs, slightly beaten

Method

  • Combine turnips with bread crumbs. (To prepare soft bread crumbs, remove crusts from fresh bread; cut or tear in tiny cubes.)
  • Blend in remaining ingredients. Place in greased 2-qt. casserole. Bake in moderate oven (350°) 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until set.
