Grandmother′s 24-hour salad-dessert

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • ¼ c. white vinegar
  • ¼ c. sugar
  • 2 tblsp. butter
  • 1 c. heavy cream, whipped
  • 1 (1 lb. 4 oz.) can pineapple tidbits, drained
  • 2 c. seedless grapes, halved
  • 2 oranges, peeled and diced
  • 2 c. quartered or miniature marshmallows

Method

  • Beat eggs in top of double boiler. Add vinegar, sugar and butter. Cook over boiling water, stirring until thick. Cool.
  • Fold in whipped cream, fruits and marshmallows. Chill 24 hours. Serve in lettuce cups.
