If raspberries are scarce, capture their flavor with this recipe


  • 3 lbs. prune plums, ground (5 c.)
  • 5 c. sugar


  • Put ripe, firm plums through food chopper using medium blade.
  • Combine plums and sugar in a 5- or 6-qt. pan. Add raspberries. Mix together.
  • Bring to boil; reduce heat and simmer until thick, about 40 minutes. Stir occasionally. Pour into hot sterilized jars. Seal at once.
