Ingredients

  • 10 medium cucumbers
  • Water
  • 8 c. sugar
  • 1

Method

  • Cover cucumbers with boiling water. Let stand overnight. Drain. Repeat process for 4 successive days (add fresh boiling water, let stand overnight and drain).
  • On the 6th morning, slice cucumbers into ¼ to ½ slices.
  • To make syrup, combine sugar, vinegar, salt and spices, loosely tied in cheesecloth bag, and heat to boiling. Pour over slices. Let stand ov
