Cook a batch daily while getting lunch during the strawberry season


  • 1 qt. halved strawberries
  • 4 c. sugar
  • 1 tblsp. <


  • Combine strawberries and sugar. Stir lightly and let stand 1 hour in flat-bottomed shallow pan.
  • Bring to a boil and cook 10 minutes, stirring constantly. Add vinegar; boil 3 minutes longer. Remove from heat, cover and let stand 24 hours.
  • Bring to a boil and ladle into hot sterilized jars; seal.
