This relish is spiced to make meats taste better—especially pork

Ingredients

  • 12 medium apples, peeled and cored
  • 3 qts. water
  • 3 tblsp.

Method

  • Cut apples into eighths and cover with water and vinegar.
  • Combine all other ingredients in kettle. Bring slowly to a boil.
  • Add well-drained apples; cover and boil 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Pack apple sticks in hot jars and cover with liquid; adjust lids. Process in boiling water bath (212°) 15 minutes.
