Ingredients

  • 18 tart apples
  • 6 c. sugar
  • 3 c. water

Method

  • Cut cored, peeled apples in rings.
  • Combine sugar, water, cinnamon candies and food color. Bring to a boil; boil 3 minutes.
  • Add apples to syrup; cook until transparent.
  • Pack in hot jars. Cover with syrup; adjust lids. Process in boiling water bath (212°) 25 minutes. Remove jars from canner and complete seals unless closures are self-sealing typ
