Peel cantaloupe and cut in 1" sections. Cut sections crosswise.
Combine vinegar and water in kettle; bring to a boil; add spices, tied loosely in cheesecloth. (Or if you prefer to leave spices in pickles, do not tie them in cheesecloth.)
