  • 5 c. sliced, peeled, firm cooking apples
  • c. water
  • ¼ tsp


  • Arrange apples in a greased 3-qt. casserole.
  • Combine water, cloves, tapioca, candies, sugar and salt and bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Continue cooking at hard boil for 1 minute.
  • Remove from heat; add butter and lemon juice; stir until butter melts.
