Ingredients

  • c. shortening
  • c. all-purpose buttermilk biscuit mix
  • 3 tblsp

Method

  • Cut shortening into biscuit mix until crumbly.
  • Combine 3 tblsp. sugar, vanilla and milk; stir into biscuit mixture and beat 15 strokes. Pat into two well-greased 8" round layer cake pans. Bake in hot oven (425°) 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Cool.
  • Meanwhile, sprinkle berries with ⅓ c. sugar. Let stand 30 minutes. Spread half of the sweetened b
