Company special; three rich, firm-textured fudge cake layers put together and covered with Chocolate/ Lemon Frosting to make a torte

Ingredients

  • ½ c. butter
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs

Method

  • Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add melted chocolate and blend.
  • Sift dry ingredients together; add alternately with milk and vanilla to the creamed mixture.
  • Grease the sides of three 9" round layer cake pans; dust with cocoa. Line bottoms of pans with ungreased paper. Divide batter evenly between the pans.
