A quick way to put a two-layer cake together when you’re in a hurry


  • ¼ c. butter
  • ½ c. brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 tblsp


  • Melt butter; stir in sugar and cream.
  • Place cake layers on baking sheet, one at a time. Spread each layer evenly with butter mixture, spreading out to edges.
  • Place cake in broiler 6 to 8" from heat, and broil until bubbly and golden brown, 2 to 3 minutes. Broil each layer separately.
