Ingredients: 3 eggs; 3 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted; 3 c. sifted cake flour; 1½ tsp. baking soda; ¾ c. butter or regular margarine; 2¼ c. sugar; 1½ tsp. vanilla; ¾ tsp. salt; 1½ c. ice water; Fudge Frosting

¾ c. butter or regular margarine

Method

Cream together butter, sugar and vanilla. Add eggs, and beat until light and fluffy. Add melted chocolate and blend well.
Sift together dry ingredients; add alternately with water to chocolate mixture. Pour batter into three 8" round layer cake pans which have been greased and lined with waxed paper.
Bake in moderate oven (350°) 30 to 35 minutes. Cool o
