Ingredients

1 c. butter
2½ c. sugar
4 eggs

Method

Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs.
Sift flour with baking powder; add alternately with milk to creamed mixture, beating until well blended.
Pour 2⅔ c. batter into a greased and floured 9" round layer cake pan. Add remaining ingredients, except frosting, to rest of batter. Pour into 2 greased and floured 9" round layer cake pans.
Bake in mod
