Ingredients

10" Pie 9" Pie
10" Unbaked 9" pie shell
¼ tsp.¼ tsp. salt
1 c. ¾ c. sugar
3 tblsp 2 tblsp. flour
½ tsp. ½ tsp. vanilla
1 tblsp. 2 tsp. lemon juice
c. c. thinly sliced tart apples
¼ c.3 tblsp. melted butter
c.3 tblsp. cold crunchy peanut butter
¼ c.¼ c. sugar
¾ c.½ c. coarsely crushed corn flakes
tsp. tsp. salt

Method

  • ¼ tsp. salt, 1 c. sugar (¾ c. for a 9" pie), flour, vanilla and lemon juice. Toss with apples. Spoon into pie shell. Drizzle on butter.
  • Blend chilled peanut butter, ⅓ c. sugar (¼ c. for 9" pie), corn flakes and ⅛ tsp. salt with pastry blender. Sprinkle over apple layer.
  • Bake in moderate oven (350°) 50 to 60 minutes. Larger pie, 8 servings; smaller pie, 6 servings.
