Glossy glazed berries on top hide the surprise, a rich custard layer



  • Combine sugar, cornstarch and egg yolks in saucepan. Gradually stir in the milk, while bringing to a boil. Cook, stirring constantly, 1 minute.
  • Remove from heat and add vanilla. Cool and chill.
  • Melt the currant jelly over heat Cool until it is about ready to set. Brush the inside of pie shell with part of the jelly. Spoon in custard filling.
  • A
