A big recipe to make when you wish to put cookies in the freezer


  • c. sifted flour
  • 1 tblsp. baking soda
  • 2 tsp


  • Sift together flour, soda, baking powder, salt, ginger and cinnamon.
  • Cream shortening; add sugar gradually; beat until light; add egg and vanilla.
  • Add molasses and coffee, then sifted dry ingredients; mix well; chill.
  • Roll out on lightly floured board ¼" thick; cut with round 2" cutter.
  • Place about 2" apart on greased baking sheet. B
