Cutouts as varied as the shape and size of your cookie cutters


  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 c.


  • Combine sugar, shortening, molasses and vinegar in saucepan; bring to boil and cook 2 minutes. Cool.
  • Sift together flour, salt, soda, baking powder and spices.
  • Add eggs to cooled molasses mixture. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Chill.
  • Roll out dough on lightly floured board, about ⅛ to ¼" thick. Cut with cookie cutters of desired shapes; pl
