Superior unspiced molasses cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter or regular margarine
  • ¼ c. molasses
  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 2 c. finely chopped walnuts
  • Confectioners sugar (for coating)

Method

  • Cream butter; add molasses.
  • Sift flour and salt; stir in nuts.
  • Add flour mixture to creamed mixture; blend well. Shape dough into small balls, about 1" in diameter.
  • Place about 1" apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake in moderate oven (350°) 25 minutes, or until lightly browned. Roll in confectioners sugar while warm. Cool cookies on racks.
