Ingredients

  • 1 c. Cookie Starter
  • ¼ tsp. baking soda
  • tsp. ground ginger
  • ¼ tsp. ground nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp. ground cinnamon
  • ¼ c. dark brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 tblsp. dark molasses
  • 1 tblsp. buttermilk
  • Sifted confectioners sugar

Method

  • Combine all ingredients, except confectioners sugar, and mix well. Form dough into ball; chill 2 hours.
  • Shape in 1" balls. Roll in confectioners sugar, then pat very thin with glass dipped in confectioners sugar. Place 3" apart on greased baking sheet.
  • Bake in moderate oven (350°) 4 minutes, until lightly browned.
  • Remove cookies while still hot. Twist over wooden spoon handle and sprinkle with sugar. Cool on racks.
