Method

Beat butter until light; gradually add sugar and beat until fluffy. Beat in egg to blend thoroughly; then beat in molasses.
Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, coffee powder and spices. Add to first mixture alternately with milk. Beat about 30 seconds.
