Ingredients

  • 2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 c. butter or shortening
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • ½ c. milk
  • c. sifted flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 2 c. chopped cooked prunes
  • 1 c. chopped walnuts
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • Orange Glaze

Method

  • Cream together sugar and butter; stir in eggs and milk.
  • Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, cinnamon and salt; stir into creamed mixture. Add prunes, nuts and vanilla.
  • Drop by teaspoonfuls about 2" apart onto greased baking sheet. Bake in moderate oven (350°) 15 to 20 minutes, until lightly browned. Remove cookies and cool on racks.
  • Spread tops of cooled cookies with a thin layer of Orange Glaze.
