Method

Make up Ice Cream Wafers recipe using brown sugar instead of white, and ¼ tsp. baking soda instead of baking powder. Add ½ c. chopped walnuts, 1 tsp. cocoa, tsp. ground nutmeg, ½ tsp. ground cinnamon and ¼ tsp. ground allspice. Mix together all ingredients. Form into balls using 1 tsp. dough for each. Put 1" apart on greased baking sheet. Make hole in centers of cookies with fingertip. Place ¼ tsp. firm jelly in each hole. Bake in moderate oven (350°) about 10 minutes, or until cookies are firm. Remove cookies and cool on racks.
