  • ¾ lb. dried pears
  • c. chopped dates
  • 2 tblsp


  • Pour boiling water over pears. Let stand 5 minutes, until softened. Drain; remove excess moisture with paper toweling. Pears should not be mushy, but soft and pliable.
  • Arrange half of pears, skin side down, as rectangle on waxed paper. Overlap edges slightly so there are no spaces between pears. Cover with waxed paper and, with rolling pin, flatten into one smoot
