Peanut Chews

Name: Peanut Chews
Yield: Makes about 40 (2½″) clusters
Ingredients: ¾ c. light corn syrup; ¼ tsp. salt; 1½ c. sugar; 9 c. corn flakes; ½ c. crunchy peanut butter; 2 tsp. vanilla; ¾ c. water; ¼ c. butter or regular margarine

Ingredients

9 c. corn flakes
1½ c. sugar
¼ tsp.

Method

Place corn flakes in a bowl.
Combine sugar, salt, syrup, butter and water. Bring to a boil and reduce heat. Cook to hard ball stage (250°), using care not to overcook.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and peanut butter. Pour over corn flakes. Toss with fork to completely cover corn flakes with syrup. Work quickly.
Drop mixture in clusters
