  • 1 cup regular or quick-cooking grits
  • ½ pound grated sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 8 tablespoons butter
  • 3 eggs, well beaten
  • cup plus 1 tablespoon milk

Method

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Cook the grits according to package directions. Regular grits require 25 to 30 minutes of slow cooking; quick-cooking grits will take 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the cheese, butter, eggs, and milk, and pour into a buttered 3-cup baking dish. Bake 40 minutes or longer, or until set.
