Mix together the milk, butter, farina and apinch of salt. Cook for 3 minutes.
Remove from heat and mix in half of the grated cheese. Let the mixture cool for 10 minutes.
Add eggs, one by one, beating after each addition.
Butter a baking sheet and pour the mass on top of it, spreading it to ½-inch thickness.
Cut it to any shape you desire; often the batter is cut into 2-inch rounds.
Put oil in a deep fryer; when it is smoking, reduce heat and start frying the little doughnuts. If you put in too many at one time, they will stick together. Fry them for 1 or 2 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
Remove doughnuts from the pan with a slotted spoon, and place them on a double layer of paper towels to drain.
Dredge the little doughnuts with the rest of the grated cheese, and serve immediately.
