Ingredients

  • 1 small head of cabbage
  • 1 small onion, grated
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon caraway seeds

Method

  1. Cut cabbage into fine shreds. Cover with 2 quarts hot water and let stand for 30 minutes.
  2. Drain cabbage well, and press out liquid.
  3. In a separate bowl mix onion, sugar, salt, olive oil and caraway seeds.
  4. Mix cabbage slaw and dressing thoroughly. Chill for 10 minutes before serving.
