Coffee Mignon



  • ¾ cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar
  • cup prepared strong espresso coffee
  • 1 cup ground walnuts
  • 2 tablespoons roasted coffee beans, crushed or ground fine


  1. Combine ¾ cup sugar and the liquid coffee, and simmer until the mixture becomes quite syrupy.
  2. Add walnuts, mix, and remove from heat.
  3. When cool enough to handle, make little balls of the mixture. Mix ground coffee beans with 2 tablespoons sugar and roll the balls in it.
  4. Place the balls in fluted little mignon cups. Store them in the refrigerator.
