- 1½ cups honey
- ¾ cup ground poppyseeds

- Bring honey to a boil; the easiest way, even if fairly slow, is to do it in a double boiler.
- Remove honey from heat and mix in the poppyseeds, walnuts and spices. Mix well, and let the mixture cool.
- Place the mixture on a marble slab or wet board and shape it into a salami-shaped cylinder. Roll it in wax paper and store in the refrigerator overnight.<
