Honey Poppyseed Salami

  • cups honey
  • ¾ cup ground poppyseeds
  • cups ground walnuts
  • Pinch of ground cloves
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon


  1. Bring honey to a boil; the easiest way, even if fairly slow, is to do it in a double boiler.
  2. Remove honey from heat and mix in the poppyseeds, walnuts and spices. Mix well, and let the mixture cool.
  3. Place the mixture on a marble slab or wet board and shape it into a salami-shaped cylinder. Roll it in wax paper and store in the refrigerator overnight.
  4. Cut into slices just before serving.
