Even though this is a great teatime snack, I often serve it as a late breakfast on Sunday morning after having a leisurely read through the newspaper (whatever that means when you’re the parent of a young boy). This may remind you of an upscale version of the fried potatoes found on some American breakfast menus, but my take is anything but (upscale or American). This is peasant food found on the streets of Mumbai and Delhi: layers of hot, sweet, tart, and creamy sauces over thin-cut, crisp
