Reminiscent of a hearty chili, maybe because of the meaty-plump kidney beans and the wake-me-up sauce, this curry is chock-full of cumin, fennel, sweet turnips, and spicy ground chiles. If it’s not hot enough for you, spoon an extra teaspoon of cayenne into the sauce. Go ahead and sprinkle that shredded cheddar cheese on top and savor it with a big slice of jalapeño cornbread—I won’t mind.
