Mastelles are the small version of a tarte au sucre that look a little like focaccia with the indents of the fingers. I prefer the small version, because I am used to buying them on trips to Dinant. It is rather confusing that these pastries are called this, because mastel in Flemish is a whole different bake (see Gentse mastel) and so is the tarte au sucre. In Wallonia, these other mastel buns
